NC United FC earns its first victory with a disciplined 1–0 preseason performance against PFM FC.

NC United FC reached an important milestone in its young journey, earning its first victory as a team with a 1–0 preseason win over PFM FC.

The result carries special meaning for NC United. PFM FC entered the match as the Spring 2026 UPSL Mid-Atlantic Conference Champions, competing at the UPSL Premier level, giving our developing team another opportunity to test itself against strong and accomplished competition.

But more than the result itself, this was a night that reflected what NC United FC is trying to build.

A Goal, Then the Work to Protect It

NC United FC entered halftime with a 1–0 advantage, and from that point the challenge became different.

The second half demanded patience, discipline, communication, and resilience. PFM continued to push, while NC United worked collectively to protect the result and remain organized through the final whistle. Even as rain arrived later in the match, the team stayed committed to the task.

There were moments when the game required more than technical quality. It required players to support one another, remain composed, defend together, and continue competing even when circumstances became uncomfortable.

The score remained 1–0 through full time, giving NC United FC its first victory as a team.

More Than a Result

Winning is important. We compete because we want to compete well. But at NC United FC, we also want to be careful about what a result means.

One victory does not define a team, just as one defeat does not define one. This result is simply another step in a much larger process of learning how to train, compete, sacrifice, and grow together.

For a new team still developing its identity, however, moments like this are meaningful. The players were asked to demonstrate discipline and resilience, and they responded. That is something worth appreciating.

Our First Win Belongs to God

Above everything else, NC United FC dedicates this first team victory to God.

We are grateful for the abilities we have been given, for the opportunity to compete, for the people being brought together through this club, and even for the challenges that continue shaping us.

Our desire is not simply to ask God for victories. It is to honor Him through the way we prepare, compete, respond to adversity, treat our opponents, and use the talents entrusted to us.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

Proverbs 16:3

So this first win is received with gratitude rather than pride. To God be the glory.

Thank You, PFM FC

We also want to sincerely thank PFM FC for inviting us to compete and welcoming NC United FC onto their field.

Playing against an established and successful UPSL Premier team was a valuable opportunity for our players, and we appreciate the competitive environment and respect shown throughout the evening.

These are exactly the kinds of matches that help a developing team understand where it is, where it must improve, and what higher levels of competition require.

Thank You to Our NC United Family

To our players, coaches, families, and everyone supporting NC United FC: thank you.

Building something new requires patience. It requires players who continue showing up, coaches willing to invest in development, families making sacrifices, and supporters believing in the mission before there is a long history of results behind it.

This first victory belongs to everyone contributing to that journey. There is still a great deal of work ahead. For now, though, we are grateful for this moment.
