Briar United FC AcademyGrowing Together: NC United Earns First Home League Victory
September 20, 2026 · Club News
Final · UPSL Men Division 1, Fall 2026 Regular Season — Home, Ramblewood Soccer Complex. Three different scorers, a clean sheet and another step forward as NC United FC defeats Briar United FC Academy 3–0.

All Glory to God
Another match. Another opportunity to grow.
NC United FC earned three points in its first home league match of the Fall 2026 season with a 3–0 victory over Briar United FC Academy, building on the 4–1 result from the team's league debut one week earlier.
But as we continue taking these first steps together, the results are not the destination. They are part of the journey.
All glory belongs to God.
We are thankful for the opportunity to compete, for the people who make these moments possible, and for a group of players who continue learning what it means to become a team.

Different Names, One Team
After Adrian Garthaus opened the league season with a hat trick in NC United's first match, Sunday's performance showed a broader contribution across the squad.
Adrian found the net again to continue his strong start to the season. Maynor Josué Flores converted from the penalty spot, and within the opening minutes of the second half, William Marquez added the third.
Three goals. Three different contributors.
More importantly, the performance was about much more than the names on the scoresheet.
Goals: Adrian Garthaus · Maynor Josué Flores (penalty) · William Marquez (early second half).
Protecting the Clean Sheet
The 3–0 result was built at the other end of the field as well.
Cristian Martinez repeatedly came out on top in important one-on-one situations, making it difficult for Briar United FC Academy to create dangerous opportunities near the NC United goal.
When the visitors did find opportunities during the first half, goalkeeper Zachary Matik answered with several important saves. Those moments helped preserve the clean sheet and gave the team the stability it needed to continue playing forward.
The final score tells us who scored the goals. It does not tell the whole story of everyone who helped protect them.
Grateful to Be Here
Perhaps one of the most meaningful reflections from Sunday came after the final whistle.

“Great start 2-0 for the season! So grateful and blessed to play for this club and with these men!”
Those words represent something we hope continues to grow alongside the results.
NC United FC is still at the beginning of this journey, but we want to build more than a collection of players. We want to build a team in which people value one another, serve one another and are grateful for the opportunity to walk this road together.
Teammates Helping Teammates
That same spirit showed itself before kickoff.
A special thank you goes to Felix Ticona and Ndiaga Diouf, who saw that help was needed while the final preparations for our home match were being completed and immediately stepped forward to help with water and ice.
There was no spotlight in that moment. Just teammates helping teammates.
And that matters.
Their willingness to step in is a reminder that building a team happens in many ways — some visible during the match, and others in simple acts of service away from the field.
Just the Beginning
Two league matches are now behind us.
There is plenty to be thankful for, but there is also a long road ahead.
We will make mistakes. We will face more difficult moments. We have much to learn and many areas in which we can improve.
So we continue working. Together.
With gratitude for every person contributing to this journey, and with the understanding that whatever good comes from it, the glory belongs to God.
