A New Connection, Another Step Forward

NC United FC opens a new relationship with Queen City Mutiny through competition, development and shared opportunity.

Sometimes an opportunity arrives differently than expected.

NC United FC joined PFM FC and Queen City Mutiny for an unusual three-team friendly format on September 4. PFM FC opened the evening against Queen City Mutiny before NC United stepped onto the field for the second portion of play.

For NC United, that segment finished with a 2–1 result over Queen City Mutiny, with William Marquez Hernandez scoring both goals for NC United and Imer Guinto Avila providing an assist on the first.

But the most meaningful result of the evening may extend well beyond the scoreboard.

The opportunity marked the beginning of a new relationship between NC United FC and Queen City Mutiny, creating another environment in which both clubs can challenge their players, evaluate their squads and continue developing through meaningful competition.

Relationships That Create Opportunities

We are especially thankful to Coach Dwayne of PFM FC, whose relationship and introduction helped open this door for NC United. Opportunities like this are a reminder that relationships between coaches and clubs can create valuable experiences for young players that go far beyond a single match.

Our appreciation also goes to Coach Jesus and Queen City Mutiny for welcoming NC United into the evening and giving our players the opportunity to compete. We are grateful as well for the invitation to meet again for a full-length friendly in the coming week, giving both squads another opportunity to grow through competition.

For a developing NC United team, nights like this matter. Every different opponent presents new problems to solve. Every relationship creates another possibility. Every opportunity to compete helps the coaching staff learn more about the group — and helps the players learn more about themselves and one another.

“One opportunity led to another — and another chapter in the journey has begun.”

Developing Players. Building Character. Honoring God.
